A donation to the Archbishop’s Annual Appeal helps Catholic leaders through the archdiocesan Office of Formation and Discipleship. The initiatives of the Office of Formation & Discipleship give pastors, parish staff and lay leaders support, resources and professional development opportunities to better serve their community through religious education for children, youth, young adult, adult faith formation, sacramental preparation, marriage and family life, and pastoral care.
“The church needs to be there to mentor families, build stability, and provide tools for families to be successful.”
Knowing Our Faith: Building Strong Catholic Families
Katherine Angulo, Associate Director of Youth Ministry | Office of Formation & Discipleship
Though usually referring to resuscitating someone’s heart, CPR, in this case represent for Catholic Parent Revival, is a jump start straight to the heart of the family – the parents. As a program of the National Catholic Youth Ministry’s Strong Catholic Families Initiative, Katherine Angulo, the Archdiocese of Atlanta’s Associate Director of Youth Ministry, has worked nationally to debut the program to Spanish-speaking parents in the Archdiocese of Atlanta, providing parents with a time to pray, be encouraged, and leave with renewed hope in God and their family.
“Catholic Parent Revival is a time to lift up family issues and learn to pray for your family.”
“Parents need encouragement and hope. We want parents to leave with hope, hope in God.”
“We want to help them create a mission statement for their family, to bring their identity back to Catholicism.”
A donation to the Archbishop’s Annual Appeal supports the work of the Office of Formation and Discipleship, including the Catholic Parent Revival program.
