Father Mark Starr

Administrator, St. Clare of Assisi Catholic Church, Acworth

“Thank you, through your generosity, for allowing me to be your priest. It is a privilege.”

After graduating from Georgia Tech and starting his own engineering consulting business in Douglasville, Fr. Mark Starr felt called to the priesthood. During his seminarian studies, an immersion program in Mexico was transformational, expanding his ministry to the Spanish-speaking community. Since 2014, he has led the founding of the St Clare of Assisi Catholic Mission in Acworth, growing it from a community of 300 families meeting at a local school, to nearly three times that and the construction of their own parish building. Currently, there are 52 men in seminarian formation for the Archdiocese of Atlanta and 189 active priests, like Fr. Starr, that depend on your generosity to the Archbishop’s Annual Appeal.

A donation to the Archbishop’s Annual Appeal supports seminarian education, retirement care and continuous formation for the priests of the Archdiocese of Atlanta.
